Tibetan Language Program
At the junior level, our program is carefully designed to establish a strong foundation in the Tibetan language, focusing on developing conversational fluency and grade-appropriate reading comprehension skills. The goal is to enable young learners to communicate confidently and understand the rich nuances of the Tibetan language from an early age.
Our lessons are structured around the Tibetan language curriculum for weekend schools, developed by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), India. Recognizing the diverse learning styles of children, our approach incorporates a variety of innovative and age-appropriate activities to keep students actively engaged and motivated.
Children participate in interactive learning through games, role-plays, storytelling sessions, guided reading, and hands-on projects. One notable project, the "Tibet: Our Home" initiative, encourages students to connect with their cultural roots by exploring the history, geography, and traditions of Tibet. These activities are designed not only to enhance language acquisition but also to build creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Beyond language learning, our junior curriculum emphasizes character development. Students are encouraged to demonstrate respect, empathy, and kindness toward their peers, teachers, and themselves. Through a supportive and nurturing environment, children are guided to develop both linguistic competence and personal integrity, laying the groundwork for their role as future custodians of Tibetan culture and heritage.
By blending structured academics with experiential learning, the junior program at TCCC’s Tibetan School ensures that students are not only learning the language but also living the values and spirit of Tibet in their daily lives.

Registration
Registration for the Fall and Spring semesters opens in mid-August and mid-January, respectively. Parents are encouraged to complete the registration process online through the school’s registration portal provided below. Paper registration forms are also available upon request at the TCCC office.
Admission
Admission is determined based on a child's Tibetan language proficiency, which will be assessed at the time of enrollment, as well as the child's age.
Admission Requirements

Children must be enrolled in Senior Kindergarten or be at least five years old by August 31st of the calendar year.

Returning students are required to renew their registration each year to secure their placement in the class.

Parents are advised to retain a copy of the fee receipt as proof of payment.
Fee Structure
Fees may be paid by debit or cash at the TCCC office. Families who have recently immigrated to Toronto and are experiencing financial hardship may apply for a fee reduction.
